AMERLUX WELCOMES LIGHTING DESIGN LUMINARY

New Product Designer Brings 25 Years Design Engineering Experience to Outdoor Lighting Subsidiary

FAIRFIELD, N.J., Jan. 21, 2009 – Amerlux Lighting Solutions announced today Tori Poppenheimer has joined the company’s outdoor lighting subsidiary, Dynamic Lighting Solutions, as senior product designer.

Poppenheimer served as a principal for Inventive Product Design, a consulting firm she started approximately 15 years ago for a diverse client base. In addition to her part-time work with Inventive Product Design, Poppenheimer was a principal design engineer for Acuity Brands Lighting, Hydrel Division, in Sylmar, Calif., where she worked for 25 years. She joined Hydrel in 1982 where she led the successful development of new products and helped expand the company’s revenue stream from $1.5 million to more than $32 million before being named a partner. Hydrel was acquired by Acuity Brands Lighting in 1998.

“I welcome Tori to our team,” said Chuck Campagna, president and CEO, Amerlux. “She joins us at an exciting time as we integrate Dynamic Lighting into our overall corporate strategy, and we welcome her years of expertise and insight as we move forward as one company.”

As senior product designer Poppenheimer will lead all new product initiatives for the Dynamic Lighting division, reporting directly to Amerlux Vice President of Product Design and Business Development Joe Manning.

“It was pure serendipity that we found Tori Poppenheimer on the heels of the acquisition of Dynamic Lighting,” noted Manning. “Tori will be a tremendous asset to our organization as we continue to identify, meet and exceed the needs of our clients.”

Brad Somers, president of Dynamic Lighting, said he is excited to have someone of Poppenheimer’s caliber and experience helping to guide the future of the company’s product offerings.

“Tori understands the business from the inside-out. Having developed her own intellectual property in this industry, we’re eager to tap her ideas and improve on the already impressive offerings Dynamic Lighting has to offer,” said Somers.

Poppenheimer lives in Cambria, Calif., and is the mother of two teenage boys. In her free time she enjoys hiking in the Sierras, tennis and embracing her inner-computer geek. She is a cum laude graduate of Arizona State University’s College of Architecture with a degree in industrial design.
