Because you and our employees remain our most significant concern, Amerlux has decided not to participate in this year’s LIGHTFAIR conference in New York City.

I know, it’s disappointing.

Like you, we look forward to attending LIGHTFAIR every year. It’s a premier event, one of the few times we meet, greet and shake hands, showcasing what we just launched and previewing what’s next. We hear your ideas and present ours. It’s where we annually learn about your goals and problems and discover how we can help. However, because there is so much uncertainty about how many of you and us will attend and exhibit, planning a truly successful event could be costly compared to the gains for all of us.

These are the reasons why, after deep consideration and consultation, we’re not attending.

People are at the heart of our business. The global pandemic has had—and continues to have—a profound impact on our world, our industry and you. We have a social responsibility to make sure you are comfortable in every environment you see Amerlux in. It’s how we design our award-winning lighting solutions.

And it’s how we make our decisions.

Of course, we'll continue to ensure our products are engineered and ready for delivery with the same amount of care and custom craftsmanship that built our brand. Starting with our supply chains and our production floors and ending at your job site, we're hard at work to remain a catalyst for change and innovation in illumination—simply by listening to you.

We’ll keep our eye on 2022, and it’s my greatest hope that we’ll all be able to see each other in person. Next year will be a celebrated year as we all get back to what made our companies successful: face-to-face meetings with handshake promises to work together.

Thoughts? Questions? Shoot me a note—we’re here to help. One way we can do that is by mocking up our 7,000-square-foot lighting experience center in Oakland, N.J., a quick drive from NYC, to help you solve your lighting challenges. We can do this digitally or carefully in person—whichever way you feel comfortable. Just let us know.

In the meantime, be safe and healthy. We hope to see you soon.
